Very good ice cream!
Great place for fudge. I love the location as well!
Yum! This was a slice of heaven for a sweet tooth like me. There’s about a dozen flavors of fudge to choose from, alongside rows of handmade chocolate-covered confections. It took all my strength to resist the toffee, caramels, bark, and other coated treats. I walked out with only a small brick of mocha fudge. It got eaten up shortly thereafter.
We have met the fudge nazi!! I thought at first he must have misunderstood something we said, unbelievably rude! It was like the twilight zone.
Best chocolates and fudge around!
I was denied access because of my service dog. When I told her he was in fact a working dog, and he has the right to enter the building, she covered her face and began telling about how she was allergic and she didn't have to let him in the store, but she guessed she would let me in this one time. I informed her of the law, and asked her if her allergy was more important than my ability to function without the dog and she refused to answer. Rude, ignorant, and reported to the department of justice. Don't waste your time in this shop. I'm disappointed that a city focused on small business has some store owners that are so rude. Apparently this store makes enough money that they don't need local support.
August 5,2017. Approximately 7:15 pm The customer service by the guy that looks like Joe Dirt was very troubling for my wife and cousin but very funny for me, I think he had a mental break down when they asked if the fudge in house was made in house, he went bananas, he needs some mental help. The store front and presentation was great, he acted so mentally unstable when questions were asked.
Posting your business hours online would be very helpful for travelers wanting to stop and visit.
Awesome place
Very clean, quick, friendly service. The treats are delicious and there is a beautiful patio right around the corner for enjoying your hand dipped ice cream!
A little expensive, but a good range of ice cream flavors and fudge.
Just get the fudge and get the fudge out
The staff was not friendly. My girlfriend and I were in Berea after a day of hiking in the Pinnacles. She wanted an ice cream so we decided to stop at Berea Fudge Shop. The lady behind the counter was very unwelcoming and asked us "what do you want?", while staying seated in her chair behind the counter. After asking to try one of their ice creams before we decided, she seemed irritated that we asked for a sample. We didn't feel wanted after she rushed us and asked "what do you want?" for the 2nd time. I chose cookies n cream to just get out of the uncomfortable situation. She then asked my 27-yr-old girlfriend "and what do you want little girl?". We were both shocked that she said that and looked behind us to see if she was talking to someone else. She asked my girlfriend again. We politely said this will be it, paid the unhappy man behind the counter and left quickly. We were both in awe of how both staff members acted. We would not recommend this place and will not be back.
Great icecream! So gooood!
Fun little place with decent selection of fudge and candy-delights! The counter staff is helpful and patient while you make your selection. I have visited here several times and love visiting shops around the block.
You must try it.
Really lovely location with amazing sweets! Worth the stop.
Love the brownies
A great local business, the dessert quality is top notch. Freshly-made fudge. The owners do provide samples. They also have bourbon balls, buckeyes, and other treats.
Although the prices are a bit high for a single ice cream cone, it is completely worth it. The ice cream is delicious and the employees work fast and well. Their shakes and malts are also great, and they have a huge array of homemade fudge in the shop. Best to visit on a hot day or if you have a real sweet tooth!
Great place to take kids to get ice cream
Possibly the best fudge I've ever had! Lots of other Heavenly goodies too!
It's fudge! What could possibly be bad about it?
Bourbon balls
The employee who waited on us was very dismissive, apathetic and lacked professionalism. In spite of his attitude, my fiancé and I purchased a great deal (a square of fudge and total of 16 truffles to sample the variety). The fudge was the only palatable sweet. I don't believe I've spit out more chocolate. It was overpriced & terrible. We won't be returning.
Perfect for the sweet tooth. Ice cream is very good as well. They did have Pistachio ice cream that I loved but they stopped carrying it. They sell sauces like hot bbq ETC.
Ice cream is extremely expensive. I paid $7.50 for three scoops of ice cream. Literally three round balls of vanilla. The employee was rude and had a very long beard that hung down into the ice cream when he reached into the icebox. Unsanitary. We will not be back.
The best Bourbon Balls and great ice cream😁
Awesome prices and atmosphere! Cute and quaint.
They’re great
I love the old time feel of hand scooped icecream very friendly service
I was in there during the Moonlight festival this past Saturday evening. I had planned on getting some ice cream then buying some fudge to take home. The staff was very rude and unfriendly. They were unhappy about the moonlight festival and said that ice cream was not what they wanted to serve all night (then don't sell ice cream period) and that the festival was ruining and taking away from his business. I was appalled by the fact that the owner was having such conversation outloud and making everyone in line uncomfortable. I can assure you sir that the festival was NOT taking away your business, it was your mouth. And according to many other reviews this is happening quite frequently. I will never go back!
The guy in there that serves appears to be grumpy. Especially with kids.
The quality was the same as supermarket ice cream. In this aspect it is overpriced. The lady who helped us barked at me "WHAT" since she didn't understand me. The man working acted really bad to an older couple, and treated them like they where idiots. So, I never step into this shop again.
Cant tell you how the fudge tasted because they were so rude I walked out.
⭐⭐⭐⭐🤪Hopefully it's almost time for Pumpkin fudge
We needed a break from our long drive and I was craving chocolate. So when this place popped up on Yelp I figured we should give it a try. Hubby was happy to see this place also offered ice cream along side the chocolate treats. He got a mint cone while I picked out what I wanted - a Buckeye, a chocolate covered Oreo and a peanut butter cream. The latter was fine, but it was the simple Oreo that stole the show for me. We visited midday on a weekday and happened upon the last parking spot nearby. There were three others placing an order when we arrived. Since there was only one guy working, things moved a little slow. But the treats were worth it!
I was not really impressed with this place. The older guy was nice and gave my daughter a wet paper towel for the ice cream on her face on his own accord. However, their their "waffle" cones and "cake" cones are great value brand from walmart which costs $2-3 dollars a cone their price (they leave the boxes out on display). And their BBQ and other sauces are stored in free USPS flat rate boxes. As we left that day, we said thank you to a younger guy sitting down and his response was, "Yup." I probably will not be back.
Workers went on and on about their political views and yelled at us. They talked about how they should get rid of all the democrats and how all the immigrants were all getting free stuff and no poor white people were. He yelled and argued for several minutes and was an absolute idiot. When we left he chased us out the door to yell at us. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE.
Great
Typically, when reviewing a site, I will post about the ambiance, food quality, and staffing. However, neither the food nor ambiance were sufficient to make up for the rudeness of the employees. I visited this shop on a first date, and expected a friendly and quaint experience in one of the most artistic and expressive towns in Kentucky. However, when I asked for the difference between the English and Black Walnut (expecting answers as to tartness and flavor profile) I was told "black walnut uses black walnut, English uses English". I ordered English, but was so distracted by being spoken down to like an illiterate that there are no lasting impressions from the fudge. Not a welcoming place to bring guests, and these people clearly do not appreciate commentary or questions- they just want your money and for you to leave. Nobody is forcing them to work in Berea, and they are free to move at anytime if they don't like the people here!
Was disappointed all the bourbon balls had a nut on them. Tried the bourbon cherries and they were delicious. A little too expensive for me.
Drove 50 miles specifically for this place. Best hours info I could find was that they open at noon (from Facebook). No hours posted other than "Open Afternoons and Evenings"... No consistency of hours. I wanted 15 minutes after noon on a Tuesday and no signs of life. Maybe they meant 1 or 2 or 3... who knows I was told they are great if you just happen to wander by while they are open.
I do not recommend this place of business to anyone. The man behind the counter screamed at us when I asked a very simple question about his product. His offensive and accusatory rant carried on and on. I truly felt unsafe and will NEVER again return to this establishment. A one star rating is certainly overly generous!
Smells great.
Great ice cream
Not open and not posted as closed so drove over an hour to get no fudge
